Charles “Chuck” Amundsen

Passed away in his sleep at home in Palm Springs, CA on April 30th, 2004.

Born June 15th, 1933 in Forest Knolls, Marin County and raised in San Carlos and San Francisco; Chuck was a graduate of Balboa High School and San Francisco City College. His work included the insurance and real estate business in San Francisco, Sausalito and Santa Rosa; he was a founding partner of the Mt. Tam Racquet Club in Larkspur. Chuck was a generous volunteer for the P.T.A., L.C.M. football coach, Troop 43 scout master and friend to many.

Chuck possessed an infectious laugh, magnetic personality and a passion for life. For the past eleven years he lived in Palm Springs entertaining his friends, travelling and devoting his time to his family.

Chuck’s survivors include his loving wife and companion of twenty-six years Paula; son C. Mitchell Amundsen and Blake Pickett of Venice, CA; son Eric and Jennifer Amundsen of Encinitas, CA; daughter Kari Lynn and Jeff Symonds of Stinson Beach, CA; granddaughters Ava and Linden; sister Florence Mae and William Hogan, Jr. of San Francisco, CA; and his adoring nieces and nephews. Chuck was preceded in death by his former wife Georgella and his brother Robert.

A Memorial Celebration honoring Chuck’s love of life will be held Thursday, May 20th, 2004 at the Sausalito Yacht Club from 3:00 to 6:00 p.m.
