The new Noble FoKus Apollo headphones with hybrid ANC and a unique dual-driver arrangement featuring ... [+] a dynamic and planar-magnetic hybrid arrangement.

Noble has announced the world’s first wireless headphones with a 40mm dynamic driver and a 14.5mm planar magnetic tweeter. The new FoKus Apollo also has Active Noise Cancelation, 80 hours of playtime, support for LDAC and aptX HD codecs, plus a removable boom mic.

The FoKus Apollo is Noble’s first-ever headphone model and the company claims they are the world’s first headphones to use a dynamic driver and planar magnetic driver in a hybrid speaker arrangement. This blend of technologies results in audio that has the accuracy and top-end clarity that planar-magnetic technology provides with the power and full tones provided by dynamic drivers.

Planar-magnetic speakers are used for the delicacy and accuracy they bring to upper frequencies. The technology has a very fast response which means that the music is blurred less because there is far less inertia.

The FoKus Apollo headphones from Noble can play for up to 80 hours on a single battery charge.

Meanwhile, dynamic drivers provide fulsome bass because they can move significant volumes of air. However, because of their large mass, dynamic drivers are less able to provide the crystal clear mid and high frequencies that planar magnetic speakers can deliver.

By utilizing the best of dynamic speakers and a planar-magnetic driver, the Noble FoKus Apollo has the clarity of a planar magnetic technology but with the impactful bass of a dynamic driver bringing the best of both worlds.

Noble claims that no corners have been cut with the build quality of the FoKus Apollo. An integrated ADI chip combined with 3 microphones per earcup provide excellent hybrid ANC performance with a reduction of unwanted sound by up to -35db. That’s not the maximum amount of ANC available but it’s enough to tame unwanted sound without spoiling the music.

The new FoKus Apollo headphones are built for comfort with an Alcantara headband and generously ... [+] stuffed earpads.

Support for LDAC and aptX HD codecs enables the FoKus Apollo to play H-Res Audio. A full charge of the FoKus Apollo provides up to 80 hours of playtime which drops down to a healthy 60 hours with ANC turned on. Other features include multipoint connection and transparency mode both of which can be managed using the Noble FoKus smartphone app which also has personalized EQ adjustments.

Along with its high-quality built-in microphones, Noble has included a removable boom mic with the FoKus Apollo which can turn the headphones into a communication or headset. A 3.5mm audio cable is also included to use the headphones in analog mode, making them ideal for gaming, streaming and podcasting.

Noble says it has used premium materials for the FoKus Apollo including an anodized aluminum frame, Alcantara headband, plus replaceable premium protein leather earpads for comfort and added isolation.

The FoKus Apollo wireless ANC headphones have an anodised aluminum frame.

Pricing & Availability: The Noble FoKus Apollo ANC wireless headphones are available now from NobleAudio.com and selected retailers for $649 / £599 / €699.
